Comfortable all year, without the compromises
Jersey summers are getting hotter. In June 2026 the Island recorded its highest-ever temperature, and more of us are lying awake in stuffy bedrooms. The usual answer, a split air conditioning system, isn't right for every home.
The problem with outdoor units
- They're often not allowed in flats, or need freeholder approval
- They can spoil the look of period and granite homes
- They can need planning permission and neighbour discussions
- They take up balcony, patio or garden space
- They need refrigerant pipework run through the house
Our solution
- Everything is inside one slim wall unit
- Two discreet grilles outside, which close when it's off
- No pipework, no condenser, no clutter
- Cools in summer and heats in winter
- From a leading mainstream manufacturer
* Based on the manufacturer's seasonal heating efficiency (SCOP 3.4), compared with direct electric heating at the same Jersey Electricity unit rate. See Running costs.
How it works
It's a complete heat pump in one wall unit. Instead of sending refrigerant to a condenser outside, it draws outdoor air in through one grille and sends it back out through the other.
Key specifications
- Sizes
- 1.7, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 kW class
- Room size (per unit)
- up to c. 30 m²
- Modes
- Cooling, heating, dry, fan
- Heats down to
- −15°C outdoors
- Cools up to
- 43°C outdoors
- Sound (quietest setting)
- from 29 dB(A)
- Size on the wall
- approx. 1 m × 55 cm × 16.5 cm deep
- Wall holes
- 2 × 162 mm (202 mm on largest)

What that means for you
- Nothing outside. Your walls, balcony and garden stay clear.
- Factory-sealed. The refrigerant stays sealed inside the unit, with no pipework through your home.
- Year-round comfort. One unit does the job of an air conditioner and a heater.
- Inverter-driven. Output adjusts smoothly to the room, keeping it quiet and efficient.
- Thick walls are fine. It works through walls up to about 1 m thick, so it suits Jersey granite.
Why homeowners choose it
It's simple to live with, discreet to look at and comfortable all year round.
Keeps your home looking good
There's no box on the wall outside, which is ideal for period properties, smart new builds and anywhere kerb appeal matters.
Better sleep
It keeps bedrooms cool on warm nights and runs very quietly on low, so it won't keep you awake.
Heating included
The same unit heats efficiently in winter and costs far less to run than electric panel heaters.
Installed in a day
Most rooms are done in a few hours: two holes, one unit and a power supply. There's no mess left behind.
Control from your phone
Use the Wi-Fi app to cool the bedroom before bed or warm the lounge before you get home.
Low maintenance
It's sealed and self-contained, so an occasional filter clean and an annual service keep it at its best.
Ideal for
- Apartments and flats, where outdoor units often aren't allowed
- Bedrooms, home offices and loft rooms
- Period, granite and listed homes (subject to consent)
- Extensions and garden rooms
- Rooms that are hard to heat as well as to cool
Sizing guide
| Room | Typical choice |
|---|---|
| Bedroom or study, 10–15 m² | Small unit |
| Main bedroom, 15–22 m² | Mid-size unit |
| Living room, 22–30 m² | Largest unit |
| Open plan, 30 m²+ | 2 units |
We size every room individually after a survey.
How efficient is it?
It's a heat pump, so it moves heat rather than making it. Across a season, it delivers more than three units of heating or cooling for every unit of electricity it uses.
| Type of system | Heating efficiency (seasonal) | Cooling efficiency (seasonal) | Outdoor unit? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electric panel heater | 1.0 | n/a | No |
| Portable air conditioner | n/a | low | Hose out of the window |
| Our no-outdoor-unit system | 3.4 – 3.8 | 4.1 – 4.7 | None |
| Good wall-mounted split system | 4.0 – 5.1 | 6.5 – 8.5 | Yes, on the wall or ground |
Our system's figures are the manufacturer's published SCOP and SEER across the range. Other figures are typical market ranges. A higher number is better.
The honest picture
A good split system with an outdoor unit is the most efficient way to cool a room. That's why we design and install them too. Our no-outdoor-unit system gives a little of that away in return for having nothing outside and no pipework.
In pounds, the difference is small. For a typical room it's roughly £30–£40 a year compared with a top-end split, and far less than any electric heater or portable unit.
If a split system suits your home better, we'll tell you. We recommend whatever gives you the best result for each room.
Low cost to run, all year
Here are typical costs on Jersey Electricity's standard domestic tariff.
≈ 6.5p
per kWh of heat delivered, against 22.2p for a panel heater
≈ 10p
an hour in typical running. Up to about 20–23p an hour at full rated output
≈ £24
to cool a living room through a typical Jersey summer
Heating a typical living room for a year
Example: a room that needs 1,500 kWh of heat over the winter.
| Scenario | Energy delivered | Electricity used | Our system | Panel heater |

| Heating at rated output, 1 hour (largest unit) | 2.75 kWh heat | 0.88 kWh | 20p | 61p |
| Heating, one winter (example room) | 1,500 kWh heat | 441 kWh | £98 | £333 |
| Cooling at rated output, 1 hour (largest unit) | 2.87 kWh cooling | 1.04 kWh | 23p | n/a |
| Cooling, one summer (300 h at 1.5 kW average) | 450 kWh cooling | 110 kWh | £24 | n/a |
